I have been waiting on the professional Photography from another one of our lovely March Weddings. So better late than never, here is the low down from Chris and Sophie’s sophisticated and classy Wedding at the De Vere Wotton House, Dorking.
Sophie and her Mum approached us last Spring (around Valentine’s if I remember correctly) to discuss their Wedding Flowers with us. I would strongly suggest any Bride that is particular about their flower choice do the same. The reason I recommend this is, is because you can actually visibly see what is available in the season you are getting Married. It gives couples a more overall sense of what their flowers will actually look like in the flesh when the day arrives. It is also more economic to choose flowers that are seasonal, as this helps to keep the cost down and means quality will be on point. Sophie had used sites such as Pinterest and other social media to collect some ideas of what they would like. Although you don’t have to do this, it is always useful to have some idea on colour and style before you approach your Florist.
Sophie explained that their chosen venue was the De Vere Wotton in Dorking. Baring this is in mind we worked together to create a stylish flower theme that would be in keeping with the grand but intimate De Vere Wotton. Sophie decided on an all Ivory bouquet with trailing silver grey foliages such as Parvi Eucalyptus and Senecio (can look white and grey in different lights). Heavy foliage is very on trend at the moment and we decided looked very subtle with the ivory flower choices. We used soft Ivory Hanoi Ranunculus (a personal seasonal favourite), ivory Bombastic
spray Roses and Avalanche Roses. All classic flower choices and helped to create a soft formal domed shaped bouquet, with foliage draping around the edges. We continued this theme, making smaller versions for the Bridesmaid’s Bouquets and Flower Girl wand for the little flower girl (make a great choice for tiny children, who may not be old enough for a posy or basket and relativity no hassle on the day).
At the venue we set up two candelabras on site using the same flower content and trailing Ivy, very chic. We also created three massed (no foliage) floral arrangements to placed around the ceremony table, to tone in with silk floral arrangements being supplied for the tables. Although these were a tad more formal than the Bridal flowers and Candelabras, they were very in keeping with the venue and tied in with the other flowers as we used the same content throughout.
To conclude we loved working with Sophie and Chris on their classic, sophisticated Wedding Day and helping them to create a running theme and style with their flowers throughout. We particularity enjoyed using the silver and grey foliage, very on trend and absolutely gorgeous in Spring!
